We use a hybrid model that blends two recognized approaches — a Cost Approach (what it would take to recreate the asset) and an income-based approach (the excess earnings the data attributably generates) — weighted and risk-adjusted. A data-quality factor derived from your dataset adjusts both approaches, so quality is reflected throughout, not bolted on at the end.

Do you need access to my raw data?

No. We work on a "digital twin" / structural-replica basis: we assess the shape, quality, and commercial characteristics of your data on a read-only basis, without altering or permanently retaining the raw dataset. We do not extract individual records.

You can use the valuation however you need — reporting, fundraising, diligence, licensing — and, if you choose, move into a monetization program where we help turn the identified data assets into revenue. Ongoing monitoring is available to keep the valuation current as your data grows.

Is my data safe with you?

Yes. Sensitive fields are encrypted, access is controlled, and we operate read-only on a structural replica of your data. We never extract, copy, or permanently retain your raw records, and everything you share is covered by a mutual confidentiality agreement.

Do you handle personal data (PII) or health data (PHI)?

No. By design, our scope does not involve collecting, processing, storing, or transmitting PII or PHI — no customer lists, individual consumer records, patient records, or named accounts. We appraise structural value, not individual records, and you de-identify any CRM-adjacent fields before submission.

Are you GDPR and CCPA compliant?

Yes. We maintain GDPR Article 32 technical and organizational measures and 72-hour breach notification, and where we process on your behalf we execute a Data Processing Addendum with Standard Contractual Clauses as required. Under CCPA/CPRA we act as a service provider and do not sell or share personal information.

What about HIPAA and health or athlete data?

No PHI is submitted without a Business Associate Agreement in place first, and you de-identify PHI (via HIPAA Safe Harbor or Expert Determination) before submission. Special-category data, including athlete data under GDPR Article 9, must be lawfully processed and de-identified before it reaches us.

Could someone be re-identified from your work?

We apply commercially reasonable anonymization and aggregation consistent with HIPAA §164.514 and GDPR guidance, such that re-identification is not reasonably likely, and we contractually covenant never to attempt to re-identify any individual, household, device, customer, athlete, employee, or organization. (No one can promise absolute anonymization; we are precise about that.)

Will you use my data to train AI models?

No — not unless you authorize it in writing. We may apply our own models to perform the valuation and derive de-identified, generalized learnings, but your data assets are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any general-purpose or third-party AI model, and we do not make automated decisions with legal effects on individuals.

Who owns the valuation and the data?

You own your underlying data and its patterns. The methodology and the derived work product (the models and analysis reflecting our approach) belong to Data Revenue. You receive the report and the right to use it for your purposes.

If a monetization partner is involved, how is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

Any data-refinery or processing partner acts strictly as a subprocessor under our direction, with no independent right to your data or your relationship. They handle data only in contained, ISO/IEC 27001-certified environments, deliver only refined, de-identified output, and are bound by the same flow-down confidentiality and re-identification obligations we are.

Do you just value the data, or do you help monetize it?

Both. The valuation identifies which of your data assets are commercially viable; if you choose to proceed, we help you turn those assets into revenue through our data-refinery and monetization process. You are never obligated to monetize — many clients use the valuation on its own.

How does Data Revenue get paid on monetization?

We share in the upside. Rather than a large fee up front, Data Revenue earns an agreed share of the revenue generated from the data assets identified through the valuation and refinery process — so our incentive is aligned with yours: we earn when your data earns. The specific terms are set out in your engagement agreement.

What is the Data Holdco?

For clients who pursue monetization, a jointly-owned Data Holdco may be formed for your benefit and funded from data revenues, under a mutually agreed operating and revenue-sharing structure. It is a vehicle for organizing and distributing the revenue your data produces.

How is monetization revenue tracked and reported?

Revenue from your valued and refined data assets is reported each calendar quarter, within thirty days of quarter-end, with reasonable supporting detail. We may review the relevant books once per year on advance notice.

What if I only want the valuation, not monetization?

That's completely fine. If you use the valuation work product for a purpose other than revenue generation, we simply agree an "Intended Use of Work" addendum so the terms fit what you're actually doing.

What does "deposit-based" mean in practice?

It means we put our incentives next to yours. The deposit gets the appraisal and refinery work underway; once monetization produces revenue, the deposit is repaid to you first, before other revenue distribution. It is designed so the model largely pays for itself when your data performs.

How do I pay?
